Samira Nasab (Sam) is a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) and Occupational Therapist (OT). Sam received her masters degree from Touro College in Long Island, NY, and has over 20 years of experience. In her years of experience, Sam has treated all types of complicated after surgery repairs as well as non-operative conditions. Some of the injuries she has treated have included flexor tendon repairs, hand replantations, amputations, nerve transfers and repairs, fractures of fingers, hand, wrist, elbow and humerus. She also has experience treating tendinitis, overuse injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, trigger finger and other hand pain and diagnosis. This is just a short list of diagnoses Sam has treated.

 

After graduating from Touro College in 2000, Sam worked in outpatient rehabilitation centers and hospitals, some of which included University Medical and Dental Center in Newark, NJ, and Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, NY. Sam went into private practice in December of 2019. She has extensive knowledge and understanding of the upper extremity. She has created custom molded splinting for all types of injuries. (Custom splinting is done in the office and provided the same day). She has also had training in ergonomics and has worked with many professionals in adjusting their work environment to enhance better posture and prevent injury and overuse that can be caused by improper positioning. These professionals have included dentists, attorneys, computer technicians, and artists.
